Version 1.0 — Effective Date: March 30, 2026
Our cookie policy explains the types of cookies and other similar tracking technologies that we use when you visit or use Kordu Tools. It should be read in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
When we say "KORDU", we're referring to KORDU LTD. When we refer to "Services", we mean our website at kordu.tools and any tools or features available through it.
What is a Cookie?
"Cookies" are small pieces of data (often text files) that are placed on your computer or device by websites that you visit. As a standard feature of major browser applications, cookies are widely used to make online services work or operate more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the providers of those online services about your browsing experiences.
When you return to those same online services, your browser sends the previously stored cookies back, allowing the service to recognise you and remember important information to make your experience more personalised or convenient.
We and our partners also use other technologies, including data stored on your web browser or device, for similar purposes. This includes the following:
- Pixel tags: Small blocks of code on a webpage which can retrieve certain information about your device and browser, including device type, operating system, browser type and version, website visited, time of visit, referring website, and IP address.
- Local storage: Other places on a browser or device where information can be stored by websites (such as HTML5 local storage and browser cache). Kordu Tools uses local storage to remember your tool preferences and settings.
- IP address: The Internet Protocol address assigned by internet access providers to every computer connected to the internet. We and our partners can identify the country, state, and city from which a computer is connecting.
In this policy, we refer to all of these and similar technologies as "cookies".
Why Are Cookies Used on Our Services?
We use a minimal set of cookies to provide our services. Our tools are designed to work without requiring login or tracking. The cookies we use fall into the following categories:
Essential Cookies
These are the primary cookies we use.
Security: We use cookies provided by Cloudflare for security purposes, including bot detection, DDoS protection, and Web Application Firewall (WAF) functionality. These cookies are necessary to protect both you and our infrastructure.
Functionality: Essential cookies that ensure the website operates correctly, such as managing page loads and routing.
Functional Cookies (Local Storage)
Tool preferences and settings: We use browser local storage to remember your tool settings and preferences (such as selected output format, quality settings, or theme preference). This data is stored entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers.
You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings. Your tools will still work without local storage, but you may need to re-enter preferences each time you visit.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics and research: We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how our tools are used, which helps us improve the service. Our analytics are designed to respect your privacy:
- IP addresses are anonymised
- No personally identifiable information is collected
- Data is aggregated — we see trends, not individual users
- No cross-site tracking
We use the following analytics services:
- Cloudflare Analytics — Privacy-focused, does not use persistent tracking cookies, IP addresses automatically anonymised
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — Provides detailed analytics including page views, tool usage events, user demographics, and engagement metrics. Requires your consent before activation.
- Microsoft Clarity — Provides session recordings, heatmaps, and click analysis to help us understand how users interact with our tools. Requires your consent before activation.
Advertising Cookies
The Services may display advertisements provided by Google AdSense and other third-party ad networks. These ad networks may set their own cookies to serve relevant advertisements and measure ad performance. We do not control these third-party cookies.
Where required by law (e.g., for EU/EEA and UK users), we will request your consent before non-essential advertising cookies are set. You can manage your preferences at any time via the cookie consent banner, which can be re-opened from the bottom of any page.
Who Places Cookies on My Device?
Cookies may be placed on your device by KORDU LTD as the operator of our services ("first party" cookies) or by our partners ("third party" cookies).
Cloudflare Analytics collects the following data in a privacy-respecting manner:
- IP address — automatically anonymised by removing the last octet (e.g., 123.45.67.89 becomes 123.45.67.x)
- General location at the country or city level based on the anonymised IP
- The page being viewed and referrer information
- Page views, visit duration, and timestamp of visits
- Browser type and version
- Operating system and device type
How we use this data:
We use the raw data to create aggregate reports that summarise usage for a given time period. For example:
Number of visitors from London: 150
Number of visitors using Windows 11: 80
Number of views of the PNG to JPG tool: 500
Because the data is aggregated, we cannot identify individual users from our analytics reports.
Other third parties that may set cookies:
- Cloudflare — Security, performance, CDN, and bot protection
- Ad networks — If advertisements are displayed, the ad network may set cookies for ad serving and measurement
How Can I Manage Cookies?
You can manage cookies in several ways:
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set preferences for first-party vs third-party cookies
You can find out more at allaboutcookies.org.
Local Storage
To clear local storage used by Kordu Tools for your preferences:
- Open your browser's Developer Tools (usually F12)
- Navigate to the Application or Storage tab
- Find "Local Storage" and select the kordu.tools entry
- Click "Clear" to remove all stored preferences
Please be aware that if cookies are disabled, not all features of our services may operate as intended. Essential security cookies from Cloudflare are necessary for the website to function properly.
Data Retention with Cloudflare Analytics
- Cloudflare Analytics stores analytics data according to their data retention policies
- Raw analytics data is retained to generate reports and insights about website usage
- All data is handled by Cloudflare in accordance with their privacy policies and our data processing agreement
- Because Cloudflare Analytics operates without persistent tracking cookies and automatically anonymises IP addresses, the data collected cannot be used to personally identify individual visitors
Do-Not-Track Signals
Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal, KORDU LTD does not currently respond to browser Do-Not-Track signals on our services. However, our privacy-focused analytics approach means we already minimise tracking by default.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, our operations, or as we otherwise determine is necessary or appropriate. Any such changes will become effective when we make the revised policy available on our website.
We encourage you to review the "Effective date" above frequently to ensure you are aware of when our policy was last revised.
