What is HEIC?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It produces smaller files than JPG but isn't widely supported on Windows and many websites.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The HEIC file is decoded and converted entirely in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Currently one file at a time. Batch processing is planned for a future update.
Why can't I open HEIC files on Windows?
Windows doesn't include HEIC support by default. You can install the HEIF extension from the Microsoft Store, or convert to JPG using this tool.
Will the conversion lose quality?
HEIC is already a lossy format, and JPG applies additional compression. Set quality to 95%+ to minimise further quality loss.
