Frequently asked questions
Is my IP address private information?
Your public IP address is visible to every website you visit. It can reveal your approximate location and ISP, but not your exact address or identity without additional information from your ISP.
Why do I see two different IP addresses?
You may have both an IPv4 and an IPv6 address. Your ISP assigns these independently, and they may differ. Some networks are IPv4-only, in which case only one address will appear.
Why does the location seem wrong?
IP geolocation databases are approximate. They typically resolve to your ISP's regional hub rather than your exact location. VPN users will see the VPN server's location instead.
What external services does this tool use?
The tool queries ipify.org for your raw IP addresses and ipapi.co for geolocation details. No personal data beyond your IP (which those services already see) is transmitted.
Find your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses instantly. This tool queries
multiple free API services to retrieve your IP address along with
geolocation data including city, region, country, ISP, and timezone.
Results load automatically when you open the page, so there is nothing
to configure. Copy your IP to the clipboard with a single click.
