How is speaking time calculated?
Speaking time uses an average pace of 150 words per minute, suitable for clear presentation delivery. Public speakers typically range from 120–180 wpm depending on style.

Is my text stored or sent anywhere?
No. All counting and analysis happens locally in your browser. Your text never leaves your device and is not stored, logged, or transmitted to any server.

Does it count hyphenated words as one or two words?
Hyphenated words like 'well-known' are counted as a single word, consistent with standard word-counting conventions used by tools like Microsoft Word and Google Docs.

How does keyword density work?
The keyword density section strips common stop words (the, is, at, which, etc.) from the count and shows the top 10 remaining words by frequency, expressed as a percentage of total words. Useful for checking SEO keyword usage.
