Initiative Tracker

Track D&D initiative order, manage HP, apply conditions, and control combat turns. Sort combatants automatically, track rounds, and save encounters to resume later.

How to use

  1. 1

    Add combatants

Enter each combatant's name and initiative roll. Optionally set HP and AC. Click Add or press Enter to add them to the tracker. Use the Roll d20 button for a quick random initiative value.

  2. 2

    Start combat

Combatants are automatically sorted by initiative (highest first). The first combatant in the list is highlighted as the active turn. Click Next Turn to advance through the initiative order.

  3. 3

    Track damage and conditions

Use the damage and heal controls next to each combatant to adjust HP during combat. Toggle condition badges like Stunned, Poisoned, or Frightened to track active status effects.

  4. 4

    Save and resume

Click Save Encounter to store the current combat state in your browser. Click Load Encounter next session to pick up exactly where you left off, with all HP, conditions, and turn order preserved.

Frequently asked questions

How does initiative sorting work?
Combatants are automatically sorted by initiative value from highest to lowest. If two combatants have the same initiative, they're sorted alphabetically by name. The sort updates instantly whenever you add or edit a combatant.
What happens when the last combatant finishes their turn?
When you click Next Turn on the last combatant in the initiative order, the round counter increments by one and the active turn moves back to the first combatant at the top of the list. This continues automatically for as many rounds as your combat lasts.
Can I track monsters and players together?
Yes. Add any mix of players, NPCs, and monsters to the same tracker. They all sort together by initiative. You can use the duplicate button to quickly add multiple copies of the same monster — each copy gets a numbered suffix so you can tell them apart.
Is my encounter data saved securely?
All data is stored in your browser's local storage and never sent to any server. Clearing your browser data will remove saved encounters, but otherwise your data persists between sessions on the same device and browser.
What conditions can I track?
The tracker includes the most common D&D 5e conditions: Poisoned, Stunned, Prone, Frightened, Blinded, Restrained, Paralyzed, and Charmed. Active conditions appear as colored badges on each combatant so nothing gets overlooked during combat.
Can I use this for systems other than D&D?
Absolutely. While the conditions are labeled for D&D 5e, the core features — initiative ordering, HP tracking, turn management, and round counting — work for any tabletop RPG that uses an initiative-based combat system, including Pathfinder, Starfinder, and homebrew systems.

Run smoother D&D combat encounters with a dedicated initiative tracker

built for dungeon masters. Add players and monsters with their initiative

rolls, hit points, and armor class — the tracker automatically sorts

everyone by initiative order and keeps track of whose turn it is. Use the

built-in d20 roller if you need a quick initiative roll without reaching

for dice. Track hit points in real time with instant damage and healing

controls so you always know who's still standing. Apply status conditions

like Stunned, Poisoned, Frightened, and Blinded with a single tap — active

conditions display as colored badges so nothing gets forgotten mid-combat.

Advance turns with one click, and the round counter increments

automatically when the last combatant in the order finishes their turn.

Duplicate combatants to quickly add multiple identical monsters. Save your

encounter to local storage and load it next session so you can pick up

right where the party left off. Everything runs in your browser — no

sign-up, no data sent anywhere, instant and private.
