Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The AI model runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly and ONNX Runtime. Your images never leave your device.
Why is the first use slower?
The AI model (~5MB) needs to download on first use. It's cached in your browser, so subsequent uses are faster.
What kind of images work best?
Photos with clear foreground subjects (people, products, animals) work best. Complex scenes with overlapping elements may produce less precise cutouts.
Can I use this for product photos?
Yes. Background removal is ideal for e-commerce product shots, headshots, and social media content.
What output formats are available?
PNG (lossless, with transparency) and WebP (smaller files, also supports transparency).
