How to use Image Resizer

  1. Upload your image

Click the upload area or drag and drop a PNG, JPG, WebP, or AVIF image up to 500MB.

  2. Set dimensions or choose a preset

Enter custom width and height in pixels, set a percentage scale (e.g. 50% to halve the size), or select a social media preset for exact platform dimensions.

  3. Toggle aspect ratio lock

Keep aspect ratio locked (default) to prevent distortion — changing one dimension auto-adjusts the other. Unlock for free independent width/height control.

  4. Choose output format

Select PNG for lossless quality, JPG or WebP for smaller file sizes, or AVIF for maximum web compression.

  5. Resize and download

Click Resize Image, then download the resized file to your device.

Image Resizer FAQ

Will resizing distort my image?

Not with aspect ratio lock enabled (the default). When locked, changing one dimension automatically adjusts the other to maintain original proportions. Unlock for intentional distortion or stretching.

Can I resize to larger dimensions (upscale)?

Yes, but standard Canvas API enlargement uses bicubic interpolation which softens at high scale factors. For sharp AI-enhanced upscaling, use the Image Upscaler tool for 2x or 4x enlargement.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. All resizing is performed locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

What social media presets are included?

Instagram Post (1080×1080), Instagram Story (1080×1920), Facebook Cover (820×312), Twitter/X Header (1500×500), YouTube Thumbnail (1280×720), LinkedIn Profile (400×400).

Can I resize by percentage?

Yes. Enter a percentage value (e.g. 50% to halve the size, 25% to quarter it, 200% to double) and both dimensions update automatically.

What is the maximum file size?

Files up to 500MB are accepted. Processing is fast for standard images and may take a few seconds for very large files.

What output formats are available?

PNG (lossless, supports transparency), JPG (smaller files for photos), WebP (excellent compression for web), and AVIF (highest compression).

Does resizing reduce image quality?

Reducing size (downscaling) maintains quality well. Increasing size (upscaling) adds pixels through interpolation which may soften fine detail — use the AI upscaler for better results at large scale factors.

Background

Resize any image to precise dimensions directly in your browser — no software, no account, no upload required. Enter custom width and height in pixels, resize by percentage scale (50%, 25%, 200%), or select a social media preset for exact platform dimensions.

Aspect ratio lock prevents distortion: change width and height updates automatically, keeping your image proportions intact. Unlock for independent dimension control when you need to stretch or change proportions intentionally.

Social media presets include pixel-perfect dimensions for Instagram posts (1080×1080), Instagram Stories (1080×1920), Facebook cover (820×312), Twitter/X header (1500×500), YouTube thumbnails (1280×720), and LinkedIn profile images (400×400) — updated for 2026 platform specifications.

Output formats: PNG (lossless, great for graphics), JPG (smaller files for photos), WebP (best quality-to-size for web), and AVIF (maximum compression). All processing uses the Canvas API locally — imperceptibly fast for standard images.

Ideal for web developers preparing images for responsive layouts, designers resizing assets for different breakpoints, social media managers preparing platform-specific content, and anyone who needs quick, accurate resizing without Photoshop.
