Frequently asked questions

What is a SteamID64?
SteamID64 is the 17-digit unique identifier for every Steam account, always starting with 7656119. It's used by the Steam Web API, game servers, trading platforms, and VAC ban databases. Example: 76561198134785658.
What is the difference between SteamID, SteamID3, and SteamID64?
All three represent the same account — they're different encodings of the same underlying 32-bit Account ID. SteamID (STEAM_0:Y:Z) is the classic Source engine format used in CS2 and TF2 bans. SteamID3 ([U:1:W]) is Steam's newer internal format. SteamID64 is the full 64-bit format used by the Steam API.
How do I find my own SteamID64?
Open Steam, click your username, and select 'Account Details'. Your SteamID appears at the top. Alternatively, visit your Steam profile — the URL contains your SteamID64 in the form /profiles/7656119... If you have a custom URL, use the Steam ID Lookup tool to resolve it first.
Why can't I convert a custom URL like steamcommunity.com/id/username?
Custom vanity URLs are text aliases — they're not encoded as numbers and require an API call to Steam's database to resolve to an actual Steam ID. Use the Steam ID Lookup tool to convert a vanity URL first, then use this converter on the resulting numeric ID.
What is the Account ID?
Account ID is the raw 32-bit number all other Steam ID formats derive from (also called 'friend ID'). SteamID64 is simply Account ID plus a fixed offset of 76561197960265728. Account IDs range from 1 to 4,294,967,295.
Is this converter accurate?
Yes. The converter uses the exact same arithmetic Steam uses to encode and decode account identifiers. Conversion is deterministic and lossless — you can convert in any direction and back without any loss of information.
What is SteamID used for in CS2?
The classic STEAM_0:Y:Z format is used in CS2 server ban commands, VAC ban records, and Source engine game administration. When banning a player on a CS2 server, you typically need their SteamID in this format. Convert from their SteamID64 profile URL using this tool.
Can I convert multiple Steam IDs at once?
The current version converts one Steam ID at a time. Paste a new ID to replace the previous result instantly. Bulk conversion of multiple IDs simultaneously is a planned future feature.

Convert any Steam ID format to all others with a single paste. Whether you have a SteamID (STEAM_0:1:12345), SteamID3 ([U:1:24691]), SteamID64 (the 17-digit number starting with 7656119), or a 32-bit Account ID, just paste it in and get every other format instantly with a copy button on each.

All conversion runs entirely in your browser using the exact arithmetic Steam uses internally — no server requests, no API calls, no sign-up needed. SteamID64 is used by the Steam API, game servers, and trading platforms. SteamID (classic format) appears in CS2 and TF2 ban commands and server administration. SteamID3 is Steam's newer internal format. Account ID is the 32-bit base all other formats derive from.

If you have a custom URL like steamcommunity.com/id/gaben, use the Steam ID Lookup tool instead — custom URLs require an API call to resolve to a numeric ID that this converter can then work with.
